A Cleburne County man, 33-year-old Danuel Osburn of Edgemont, was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he drove to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office to pay a fine and officers attempted to serve him with an arrest warrant.

Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds says Osburn became defiant when an attempt to serve the warrant was made by investigators from his agency, the Arkansas State Police and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force. A scuffle ensued, leading to Osburn being contained and handcuffed.

The warrant was issued on December 11th, after Osburn had been contacted by other officers and was in possession of a firearm. As a convicted felon, Osburn is prohibited from possessing a firearm under Arkansas law.

Osburn is in custody at the Stone County Detention Center where he awaits trial for possession of firearms by certain persons and resisting arrest. His bond has been set at $10,000.
