Two men were given five years probation in unrelated cases during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Thomas Swindol, who lists an address in Cleveland, Mississippi when arrested, and Justin Richardson of Mountain Home both entered guilty pleas to the charges against then.

The 29-year-old Swindol was arrested early last year after officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven recklessly on Highway 62/412.

During the traffic stop, officers reported seeing marijuana in Swindol’s vehicle and Swindol is said to have told them there were other drugs in the car.

A search turned up a number of drugs, including Suboxone strips, methamphetamine and crack cocaine.

Prior to his sentencing Thursday, the court was informed that Swindol had completed a drug rehab program at a facility in Tennessee.

Richardson pled guilty to charges against him stemming from a shoplifting incident at a local business.

The 32-year-old Richardson was arrested in early July when a Mountain Home police officer responded to the shoplifting report.

Richardson was in the parking lot of the business when officers detained him. The property stolen from the business was recovered. The officers also found drugs and drug paraphernalia in Richardson’s possession.
