(AP) – The Missouri House is again advancing a proposal

Republican sponsor Rep. Justin Alferman says the goal is to limit lobbyists’ influence on lawmakers through expensive gifts.
There are some exceptions. Lobbyists could still host catered events with free food if all lawmakers and statewide elected officials are invited. Awards could still be accepted, and flowers sent for a funeral, celebration or other event would also be allowed.
The House has quickly passed the bill in past years, but it’s unclear if the proposal will have better luck in the Senate, where it’s languished before.
