Almost exactly one month after Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery asked for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with five separate incidents of burglary, break-ins and thefts, 28-year-old David Michael Fiss has been captured. At the time Fiss was placed on the sheriff’s most wanted list, Montgomery indicated the fugitive might be in possession of a stolen firearm, a .410 shotgun.

At the time Sheriff Montgomery asked for the public’s help, Fiss’ last known address was in Briarcliff. Online jail records indicate his address is now in Salesville.

Online jail records indicate Fiss is charged with felony counts of theft of property, criminal mischief, residential burglary and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

Fiss is also a habitual offender. His bond was set at $50,000.

No other details on Fiss’ capture had been released at news time.
