An Arkansas State University-Mountain Home student recently attained his CompTIA A+ industry-recognized certification. Peter Stromquist is pursuing a management degree with an emphasis in business development.

The university says an A+ industry certification confirms a technician’s ability to demonstrate various computer hardware and software skills including installation, configuration, diagnosing, repairing, preventive maintenance, mobility and security. The CompTIA A+ certification is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers.

ASU-Mountain Home is an authorized CompTIA Academy Partner and offers the A+ Computer Technician program to help individuals prepare for the CompTIA A+ industry-recognized certification and entry-level computer career opportunities. With the advances in technology, the demand for a skilled network and computer support workforce continues to increase. An industry certification is a valuable credential to help start or enhance a career in the business or technology fields.

The A+ Computer Technician curriculum is integrated within the Information Systems Technology – Networking Specialist degree or can function as a stand-alone program. By combining a degree with an industry-recognized certification, students can increase their employment potential.
