Battle of state ranked girl’s teams at Norfork, rest of Thursday basketball results

In high school basketball Thursday night, it was a battle of state ranked girls teams at Norfork as they hosted Salem, but it wasn’t close. Norfork cruised to a 63-24 win, holding the Lady Greyhounds scoreless in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Panthers improve to 27-1 overall and 10-0 in the 2A/1A-3 District. The Salem girls fall to 16-3 and 7-2.

In the boy’s game, Salem defeated Norfork 50-36. The Greyhounds up their record to 3-6 and 3-4 while Norfork falls to 6-17 and 1-9.

In junior high hoops, Mountain Home won both of their boy’s games at home against Harrison and split their girl’s games at Harrison.
The Junior Bombers are now 16-1 after topping Harrison 48-30. Mat Jones pumped in 24 points for Mountain Home.
Mountain Home won the 8th grade boy’s game 34-25. Dodge Harris scored 12 points and Reed Ellison added 10. The 8th Grade Bombers are 5-9 on the season.
The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 13-3 with a 41-33 decision over Harrison. Addison Yates led the way with 17 points and Kate Gilbert added 14.
Harrison won the junior girls J.V. game 36-34. Mountain Home was able to battle back after falling behind 15-2. Annie Norcross scored 15 points and Caden Jones had 12.

The Mountain Home 7th grade girls lost both of their games last night at the Branson Tournament, falling to Branson and Nixa.

The Cotter junior girls lost at Jasper 37-28. Cotter won the 7th grade girl’s game 16-12.

The Yellville-Summit junior girls defeated Green Forest 37-22.

Izard County split their junior high games against Viola. The Izard County junior boys are now 19-1 after topping Viola 62-26. Coby Everett led the scoring with 17 points, Gunner Gleghorn scored 13 and Chase Orf had 11.
Viola won the junior girl’s game 49-16. Allison Newman scored 10 for the Izard County junior girls.
