Buffalo River Watershed Alliance to host informational meeting in Flippin

An informational meeting called “Save the Buffalo” is to be presented by the Buffalo River Watershed Alliance in Flippin Saturday morning at 10:30. The meeting will be held at the Marion County Senior Activity and Wellness Center located at 5966 Highway 202 East.Ellen Corley and Gordon Watkins of the Buffalo River Watershed Alliance will be giving a 30 minute presentation on their organizations latest efforts to protect the waters of the Buffalo River from commercial hog farm waste. A 30 minute round table discussion will follow.

The Buffalo River Watershed Alliance was created to help preserve and protect the scenic beauty and pristine water quality of the Buffalo National River by opposing and preventing the construction and operation of industrial confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs) within the Buffalo River watershed.

The event is sponsored by local friends of the Buffalo and Buffalo River Indivisible.
