The agenda for the Mountain Home City Council meeting Thursday evening at 6:00 has been amended.
The revised agenda made available late Thursday morning reflects two items having been deleted from the original version. The two deleted items are a resolution of intent regarding local cost share of a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) replacement project and a presentation from Methvin Sanitation.
Three items of new business remain on the agenda.
For the second time the council will consider a resolution recognizing the opioid epidemic in the U.S. and Arkansas. The resolution also calls for the City of Mountain Home to engage in litigation as a member of the Municipal Legal Defense Program against those entities and people responsible for this societal crisis. In early January, the council considered the resolution to enter the city into the class action lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies pushing certain opioid medications without taking action.
In addition, the council is scheduled to hear a request to approve an auction list and a 2017 budget cleanup resolution.
The meeting will be held in the council chambers of the Municipal Building.
