Empty Bowls to Feed the Hungry set for Thursday

The Fourth Annual Empty Bowls to Feed the Hungry event is set for Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at Mountain Home High School. The event, sponsored by Mountain Home High School students, is a fundraising endeavor for the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Jeff Quick, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Food Bank, says the event is filled with activities.

Quick says the event is more than just a fundraiser. It’s an educational opportunity for the MHHS students.

With one in three children in the food bank’s service area at risk of not knowing where their next meal will come from, Quick says he often receives feedback at events like Empty Bowls from those who know firsthand about food insecurity.

Tickets for the Empty Bowls to Feed the Hungry event are $10 each and are available at Mountain Home High School or the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas. Quick says recent audit feedback indicates 70 meals are provided for each $10 donation to the food bank.
