Motorists needing to be on the road Sunday will need to exercise caution. Due to the freezing rain falling in the Twin Lakes Area Saturday night, some may experience hazardous conditions when traveling.

A spokesperson for the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office dispatch says there may be some roads with slick spots, but for the most part, the roadways are mainly wet. In north central Arkansas, the Arkansas Department of Transportation reports the most hazardous conditions are in Boone County. Ice is being spotted on U.S. Highway 65 between Harrison and the Arkansas-Missouri state line, and ice patches can be seen on Arkansas Highway 7 from Harrison to Lead Hill and on U.S. Highway 62 from Harrison to Alpena.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the most hazardous road conditions in the area are in Douglas County. Missouri Highway 5 is reportedly covered with icy conditions.

ArDOT’s road conditions can be found online at idrivearkansas.com, and the MoDOT Traveler Information Map is at traveler.modot.org/map.
