High school basketball makes up the local Wednesday schedule as regional play begins in Arkansas.
Cotter’s girls will play their opener in the Class 2A North Regional Tournament at Marked Tree. The Lady Warriors meet Carlisle at 4 p.m.
The Class 1A Region 2 Tournament gets underway at Armorel. In girls’ action, Norfork tips off at 4:00 against Ridgefield Christian, and Viola takes on Bay at 7:00. The Izard County boys face Ridgefield Christian at 5:30.
Several local teams will be in action at the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament in Alpena. On the girls’ bracket, Omaha and Jasper get underway at 4:00, and Bruno-Pyatt plays Lead Hill at 7:00. On the boys’ side, Lead Hill will be paired with Western Grove at 5:30, and Bruno-Pyatt faces Omaha at 8:30.
Melbourne is the host of the Class 3A Region 3 Tournament. In the girls’ games, Bergman meets Riverside at 4:00, and Mountain View takes on Rivercrest at 7:00. In boys’ action, Marshall will be matched up with Manila at 5:30, and Valley Springs plays Corning at 8:30.
District play continues in Missouri as Gainesville’s boys will compete in the semifinals of the Class 2, District 4 Tournament at Norwood. The Bulldogs face Hartville at 7:30.
