Changes have been made in the process for Mountain Home city households when it comes to trash collection. Citizens now have the option to choose from three different sizes of Methvin Sanitation trash containers to put near the road on collection day. The sizes are 35 gallons, 65 gallons and 95 gallons.

In October, the Mountain Home City Council voted to require all households to have a Methvin Sanitation container, but the details regarding the size of the containers were not outlined until this month. Several Mountain Home residents currently have a 95-gallon cart. Justin Methvin of Methvin Sanitation was Saturday’s guest on KTLO-FM’s Local Matters, and he says those keeping the 95-gallon size may see a change in their bills from the Mountain Home water department.

Methvin says he has talked to several residents who have the 95-gallon container because that was all Methvin Sanitation originally offered, but they’re ready to downgrade to a smaller size.

Methvin adds the 35-gallon container is a replacement for customers on the one-bag service.

In addition, Mountain Home citizens will have another option to choose a 65-gallon recyclable container at no charge regardless of the size of trash container. For more information, contact Methvin Sanitation at 870-430-2181.
