Norfork girls among local teams in state tournament play Tuesday

High school basketball makes up much of the local Tuesday schedule as state tournament play continues in Arkansas and begins in Missouri.

Norfork’s girls will be in Morrilton for their first game in the Class 1A State Tournament. The Lady Panthers’ opponent will be another area school as they meet Rural Special.
Norfork has spent much of the season ranked number one in Class 1A by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The Lady Panthers are currently 40-1 on the year with their only loss against North Little Rock in the championship game of the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament at Mountain Home. Norfork defeated Bay on Saturday to win the championship of the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Armorel.
Rural Special came into the tournament as the number four seed from Region 3. The Lady Rebels are 20-15 on the season according to Maxpreps after winning their first round game over County Line on Monday.
Tip-off at Devildog Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Also in the Class 1A State Tournament, the Jasper girls get underway at 1:00 against Maynard, and Omaha’s boys face Kirby at 5:30.

The Mountain View girls head to Monticello to begin action in the Class 3A State Tournament. The Lady Yellowjackets take on Elkins at 7:00.

Both of Harrison’s teams will be in Maumelle for the start of the Class 5A State Tournament. The Lady Goblins tip off at 1:00 against Hot Springs, and the Harrison boys play Camden Fairview at 5:30.

Dora’s boys travel to Mountain Grove to begin the Class 1 State Tournament. The Falcons’ sectional opponent will be Eminence. Tip-off is set for 7:45.
