Norfork girls to meet Wonderview in state semifinals

High school basketball makes up the local Saturday schedule as five area teams have a trip to Hot Springs on the line.

Norfork's girls will return to Morrilton High School one more time as they compete in the semifinals of the Class 1A State Tournament. The Lady Panthers will look to avenge last year's semifinal loss as their opponent will once again be Wonderview.
Norfork comes into the game with a record of 42-1 on the season after defeating Alpena on Friday. The Lady Panthers are the top-seeded team from Region 2.
Wonderview is the number one seed out of Region 3. The Lady Daredevils got revenge Friday against the team that beat them for last year's state title as they handed Bay a five-point defeat.
Norfork and Wonderview last met in last year's state semifinals at Mount Ida. The Lady Panthers fell to the Lady Daredevils 54-47.
Tip-off at Devildog Arena is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday's game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Two area boys' teams will also be in the semifinals at Morrilton. Izard County meet Mount Vernon-Enola at 1:30, and Western Grove faces Guy-Perkins at 7:30.

Two local girls' squads will face off in the semifinals of the Class 3A State Tournament at Drew Central High School in Monticello. Melbourne and Mountain View tip off at 6:00.

In Missouri, the West Plains girls will be in Marshfield with the hopes of a state tournament berth. The Lady Zizzers will take part in the championship game of the Class 4, District 9 Tournament as they play Logan-Rogersville at 1:00.
