Mountain Home wrestler signs with Williams Baptist

A member of the Mountain Home High School wrestling team has signed to continue his career in college. Read Parker signed a national letter of intent Thursday to wrestle for the Eagles at Williams Baptist.

Parker finished his high school career with a record of 65-36. He collected two state medalist honors with a fifth place finish this year and a sixth place finish as a junior. Parker was a two-time all-conference wrestler as well. As a seventh grader, he finished second in the Arkansas Youth State Tournament.

Parker says he has known for years wrestling is something he wanted to participate in past the high school level.

Williams Baptist is coming off a very successful season where they finished third in the NAIA National Championships and had one wrestler win a national title.

Read is the son of Buck and Nikki Wood.
