MH soccer teams pick up sweep at Morrilton

The Mountain Home High School soccer teams had a good night Friday as they swept Morrilton.

The Lady Bombers invoked the mercy rule as they defeated the Lady Devildogs 6-1. Sarah Swonger and Sabra Wickershame led Mountain Home with two goals each, and Kenzie Hatman and Chloe Nosari each added a goal.

The Bombers were tied with Morrilton 1-1 at the end of regulation in the boys’ match, but Mountain Home won the penalty kick shootout 5-3 to take the victory. Talyn Benton had the Bombers’ only regulation goal off an assist from Daniel Goicoechea and Joseph Spurlin. Penalty kick goals were scored by Benton, Goicoechea, Ewan Platt and Koby Weber. In addition, Hunter Beshears recorded two saves. Mountain Home improves to 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the 6A/5A-2.

Both Bomber teams will return to the road March 27th when they meet Beebe.
