A one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening sent 18-year-old Blakelynn Black of Mountain Home to Cox Medical Center in Springfield.

According to a report by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Black was traveling south on County Road 30. After coming out of a curve at the intersection with Lake Oak Drive, Black’s vehicle crossed the centerline of the roadway before coming abruptly back into the southbound lane and then leaving the roadway. When the vehicle left the roadway, it entered a ditch and struck an embankment causing it to spin. The spin led to the vehicle striking a large tree.

The report notes the vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the 10:39 p.m. accident.

Black was taken by ambulance to a nearby parking lot where she was airlifted to the Springfield medical center. A spokesperson at the medical center said Thursday Black was not listed as a patient.

Careless prohibited driving was listed as a contributing factor in the crash. Road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the accident.
