Mixed results for MH baseball and softball Tuesday

In high school baseball Tuesday afternoon, Mountain Home split their district double header at home against Morrilton.
The Bombers used a strong pitching performance in the first game to a 4-2 win. Gage McClain struck out nine in the complete game victory. Garrett Steelman had two hits and an RBI.
In the second game, Morrilton defeated Mountain Home 9-1. Asa Smith drove in the lone Bomber run.
Mountain Home is now 7-11 overall and 3-3 in the 6A/5A-2 district.

In other baseball, Mammoth Spring topped Calico Rock 10-2. The Bears improve to 8-6 overall and 7-2 in the 2A/1A-3 District.

In softball Tuesday, Mountain Home lost both ends of their double header at home against Morrilton.
Morrilton won the first game 13-3. Maly Tabor and Bella Bevel each hit home runs for the Lady Bombers and Marcie Cudworth added two hits.
In the second game, Morrilton was a 16-7 winner. For Mountain Home, Tabor blasted two home runs and drove in three runs and Grace Gilbert had three hits including a home run.
The Lady Bombers fall to 8-7 on the season and will play at Harrison Friday.
