Bass Cat Owners Invitational set for Friday, Saturday

One of the Twin Lakes Area’s biggest fishing tournaments returns this week. The 2018 Bass Cat Owners Invitational is scheduled for Friday and Saturday on Lake Norfork.

Bass Cat Boats owner Rick Pierce says this will be the 32nd edition of the Owners Invitational.

Pierce adds with the number of participants expected, the event should bring in a lot of dollars to the local economy.

The entry fee is $150 per team, and the participants must compete in a Bass Cat boat. Registration will be held Wednesday from 8:00 to 4:00 at the Bass Cat Boats headquarters on County Road 12 in Midway and Thursday from 8:00 to 7:00 at the Trout Nature Center inside the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. Weigh-ins will be held at Lake Norfork Marina in Henderson.

The top prizes for the tournament are a pair of new Bass Cat Boats. One is a fully-rigged premium model with a retail value of $75,000, and it will be given away in a random drawing during the Friday night social event at Bomber Gymnasium on the campus of Mountain Home High School. Entertainment at the social event will be provided by rising country music star T.J. Broscoff.
