In high school baseball Thursday, Izard County split a double header with Salem.
The Greyhounds won the first game 8-1.
In the nightcap, the Cougars were 3-2 winners. Dylan Tharp got the win on the mound, striking out six in six innings of work. Noah Everett notched the save. Drew Foster drove in the game winning run. Chase Orf went two for three at the plate.
Viola edged past Mammoth Spring 5-4. The Bears fall to 9-7 overall and 8-3 in the 2A/1A-3 District. The Longhorns improve to 22-1 overall and 11-0 in league play.
