Arkansas State Highway Commission approves bid for improvements

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements in Fulton County, Newton and Searcy Counties according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.The purpose of the Fulton County project is to construct the Fulton County Area Headquarters in Salem.

Tate General Contractors, Inc. of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $795,747.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2018.

The purpose of the project in Newton County is to resurface selected sections of State Highway 7 between State Highway 16 and the Boone County line.

APAC-Central, Inc. of Fayetteville was awarded the contract at $2,795,246.93.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.

The Searcy County construction’s purpose to resurface selected sections of various roads in Marshall to include: Westwood Dr., Campus St., Spring St., Range St., and Pine St.

Dilbeck Excavation, Inc. of Mountain Home was awarded the contract at $227,354.66.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018 as well.
