In other school board news, Long recognized three employees of the district for over 30 years of service. Patti Bell, Debbie Braunagel, and Devona Pendergrass were presented with plaques thanking them for their dedication.

The board heard presentations from Pendergrass for School Librarian Recognition Month. District librarians highlighted the essential roles they have in a child’s education. They performed an exercise challenging the board to distinguish between real websites and fakes. Pendergrass says this is just one example of how librarians interact with students to transform learning.

FADD and the Last Dance Committee presented the school with The Last Dance banner, thanking all of the community sponsors. Board members received a CellSlip designed to prevent distracted driving. A phone placed in the slip will have all signals blocked until it is taken out.
