A complaint of the theft of a pickup truck led to the arrest of a rural Mountain Home man. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 55-year-old Tony Farnam has been in the Baxter County Detention Center since Saturday on a felony count of theft of property. His bond is set at $5,000.

A citizen called the sheriff’s office Saturday after realizing his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was missing. A dark-colored Chevrolet Blazer was parked in the truck’s spot, and the complainant reportedly recognized it as belonging to Farnam. Deputies ran a registration check on the Blazer and confirmed it was registered to Farnam.

The Mountain Home Police Department reportedly made contact with the suspect and the stolen vehicle later that day on East 9th Street in Mountain Home. Farnam was taken into custody without incident, and the vehicle was returned to its owner.

Farnam is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court next month.
