Students honored at ASUMH award ceremony

Thirty students of Arkansas State University at Mountain Home were honored for their academic achievements in mid-April during a luncheon at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center. Awards were given to the top students of each academic discipline, from accounting and finance to welding.

Among those honored in sciences included April Woods in accounting and finance; Austin Apple in automotive technology; Whitney Blair in biological health care services; Joseph Bogowith in biological sciences; Alex Ruegsegger in chemistry; Lee Scholl in computer information systems and web development; Heather Kite in criminal justice; Sabrina Smith in funeral science; Jeremy Sharp in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; Terri Sigafus in LPN/paramedic to RN; Jason Standridge and Mitchell McDonald in mathematics; Joseph Gentry in mechatronics; Curtis Mowry in networking specialist; Chris Bogowith in paramedic technology; Kelly Connelly in physical science; Jeremy Oakes in programming/mobile development; and Scott Poor in welding.

Those honored in arts and humanities included Andrew Stevens in art,Anna Lang in composition, Makayla Fischer in mid-level elementary education,Seth Stapleton in graphic design, Jacob Davis in history, Noah Strout in hospitality management, Robby Lockeby in literature, Matthew Thomas in physical education, Abraham Unwer in psychology, Kelly Connelly in sociology, Daniel Sullivan in speech, and Kelsey Yearwood in theater.

In addition to her academic honor in sociology, Kelly Connelly was chosen as the Overall Academic Achiever by faculty and was presented a certificate by Chancellor Dr. Robin Myers and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Dr. Martin Eggensperger.
