Dawn Lambert of Mountain Home pled guilty to charges of fighting with her 63-year-old mother after arguing over the use of a telephone and was given probation and jail time during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 40-year-old Lambert was put on probation for six years and given six months in the Baxter County jail with credit for time served. She has been locked up since October last year and was released from the detention center at 9:13 p.m. Thursday.

Lambert was arrested October 2nd when a Baxter County deputy responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence along Sugar Ridge Terrace. He found Lambert’s mother lying on a couch. The deputy reported the woman had dried blood on her chin and her face was swollen.

She also complained of having trouble breathing as a result of the fight with her daughter. The mother was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Lambert told investigators she lived with her mother and had asked the parent to use her phone. When the mother asked why Lambert wanted to contact the person she had said she was calling, Lambert had told her mother it was none of her business.

At first, the mother and daughter argued verbally but the confrontation over the phone call heated up and became physical. Lambert said she began punching her mother in the face and body.

Lambert admitted to the deputy she had “lost her cool” and went “overboard” in her reaction to the mother’s question. While still at the home, Lambert began apologizing to her mother for what she had done.

The deputy reported Lambert’s right hand was swollen at the knuckles, but she refused medical treatment. She said in addition to hitting her mother, she had punched a wall inside the residence after the altercation.
