Almost 80 exhibitors will be on hand for the 39th Annual Health Fair and Expo sponsored by Baxter Regional Medical Center and KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot Wednesday and Thursday. The two-day event kicks off Wednesday morning at 7:30 in the main exhibit building at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.

The event includes various free health screenings and continues until 4:00. It will open again Thursday from 7:30 in the morning until noon. There is no charge to attend the expo and participate in the screenings, with lines generally forming as early as 7:00 in the mornings.

Tobias Pugsley, Director of Marketing for Baxter Regional Medical Center, says a full house of exhibitors will be on hand, spilling outside.

Those familiar with the annual Health Fair and Expo know the event offers a full range of screenings, giveaways and exhibits. Keeping it fresh with new offerings to address the healthcare needs of the area is always part of the planning, Pugsley says.

Pugsley says the new cardiac calcium screening is an attempt to identify heart issues earlier. The new screening is targeted to women 45 years plus and men 40 years plus with a history of heart issues, tobacco usage or being a little overweight.

Pugsley says the Health Fair and Expo achieves what it was designed to do–address medical needs that otherwise might go undetected.
