A Searcy County man, 65-year-old Frank Thomas Nance of St. Joe, was arrested Tuesday on a bench warrant on five counts of distributing/possession/viewing matter depicting child sex, a Class C felony. Nance’s bond is set at $100,000.According to the arrest affidavit, an investigator with the Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police executed a search warrant in August 2017 at Nance’s residence. A number of electronic devices were seized.

A November investigation by the Arkansas State Police of the seized items determined a user profile, believed to be associated with Nance, downloaded, stored and viewed child abuse material.

Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans says on Tuesday Marion County Patrol Sergeant Zeb Gilley was in the Yellville area and recognized Nance at the rear of a business. Sergeant Gilley was aware Nance had a Marion County warrant out for his arrest. Gilley confirmed the warrant was still active and immediately made contact with Nance.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Arkansas State Police assisted in the arrest.
