Tuesday baseball results include MH sweep at Searcy

The Mountain Home High School baseball team picked up a double header sweep of Searcy on the road Tuesday.

Mountain Home won the first game 3-1. Will Gross was the winning pitcher, allowing one hit in three and a third innings. Ben Henderson got the last five outs for the save.
The Bombers pounded out ten hits in the game. Luke Kruse, Gage McClain and Josh Prinner had two hits each.

In the second game, the Bombers topped the Lions 5-0 behing the pitching of Trey Jordan who fired the complete game shutout. He struck out six while giving up just three hits and one walk.
At the plate, McClain, Henderson and Garrett Steelman each had two hits.

The Bombers are now 9-17 overall and 5-7 in the 6A/5A-2 District. They will host Jacksonville Saturday in the opening round of the 6A East Conference Tournament.

In other baseball Tuesday, Mammoth Spring lost both ends of a double header to Hillcrest. Hillcrest took the first game 7-4 and the nightcap 7-6.
The Bears fall to 10-10 on the season. They play Wednesday evening at 6:00 at Calico Rock in the district tournament.
