The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Wiggins Battery and the Baxter County Historical Society will gather at the Mountain Home Cemetery Saturday morning at 10:00 for the annual Confederate Memorial Day service. The cemetery is located at 1160 South Main Street behind Guy Berry College and Career Academy.Kevin Bodenhamer, Commander of the 27th Arkansas Infantry Camp 1519, says this year’s soldier of honor is Ambrose J. Trumann, 33rd Texas Cavalry.
The memorial service will move to the Baxter County Courthouse lawn at the Civil War marker at 11:00 for a short history and memorial program.
