Rowland Mitchell of Midway, who was the only person arrested during the annual marijuana eradication operation in the county last year, was rearrested earlier this year on drug-related charges. He appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday to change his plea to guilty.

The 53-year-old Mitchell was given six years probation.

The latest arrest was the result of a compliance visit by probation and parole officers related to the initial conviction on the pot charge.

During the visit at Mitchell’s residence along Posey Trail in the Midway area, officers found a glass-smoking device containing methamphetamine residue. In addition, a marijuana cigarette was found in the residence.
