A suspect in an Ozark County murder was located in Florida after going on the run. Ozark County Sheriff Darrin Reed said Tuesday 32-year-old Tyler Rynard of Squires was arrested without incident by U.S. Marshals in Orlando. Rynard is charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and one count each of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary, and he is being held without bond.

Rynard is one of three suspects charged in the murder of 73-year-old Lawrence Brostedt, and two others are expected to face charges. Forty-two-year-old Holly Lucas of Mansfield is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and first-degree robbery, and she is being held without bond in the Ozark County Jail. Twenty-three-year-old Michael A. Smith of Mansfield is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, and he is in the Ozark County Jail on a quarter million dollar bond.

Sheriff Reed says Brostedt was killed and his home burglarized in a remote area of northern Ozark County in the Foil/Squires area. Authorities went to Brostedt’s home on a welfare check following a call from the Mountain Grove Police Department who had arrested a male subject in possession of three personal checks belonging to Brostedt.

Reed says officers found a large tarp on the garage floor. Brostedt’s body was found under the tarp wrapped in another tarp and bound tightly by rope.

Authorities believe Brostedt was ambushed from behind and shot in the back of the head. He lived alone at his residence.
