Cotter girls 3rd at state track meet, Mammoth Spring has some top finishers

The Cotter High School girl’s track team finished third at the Class 2A State Track Meet Wednesday at Mineral Springs.
Marie Reed led the way by winning the state championship in the shot put with a throw of 35 feet 8 inches. Reed also finished fifth in the discus and eighth in the long jump.
Makayla Bramblett finished second in the 200 and fifth in the 100.
Christianne Crunkleton was third in the 100 hurdles and sixth in the pole vault.
Alexa Wooten finished sixth in the 400 and 7th in the high jump.
Ashley Garay was sixth in the shot put.
Emily Montgomery finished eighth in the triple jump.
The 4×100 relay team of Reed, Hannia Garay, Bramblett and Macie Clawson finished eighth.



The Class 1A state track meet was also held at Mineral Springs and Mammoth Spring had a few top finishers.
Lauren Mitchell was state runner-up in the 300 meter hurdles.
Terra Godwin was sixth int he 100 hurdles.
The 4×100 meter relay team of Stephanie Henry, Godwin, Shelby VanGinhoven and Mitchell placed fourth.
