A one-story home in the Gassville area was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon. The residence is located on Moon Hollow Lane, just off State Highway 126 north of the Lithia Creek bridge.

Gassville Fire Chief Christy Dewey says the one-story rental residence is owned by Fred Crownover and occupied by a couple reportedly home at the time of the fire reported at 2:25. Their names were not available. No injuries were reported.

Less than five minutes after firemen were paged from 911, the blaze was reportedly through the roof of the home.

Chief Dewey and members of the Gassville Fire Department returned to the scene late Friday afternoon as they tried to determine the cause of the blaze.

Gassville firemen were assisted by personnel from the Cotter/Gassville Rural, Cotter and Midway fire departments.
