The 71st annual Arkansas Farm Family of the Year recipients have been announced by the Arkansas Farm Bureau. The county winners will be visited by a set of judges to determine the eight district winners, which will be announced on June 20th. Those winners will be visited again by a different set of judges in July to determine a state winner, to be announced December 6th at the Farm Family of the Year luncheon in North Little Rock.The county winners in the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot listening area include Vernon and Julie Fowler from Clarkridge, William Blasdel from Flippin, Lendal and Tammy Erby from Viola, Tim Finley from Sidney in Izard County, Brandon and Katrina McCallister from Marshall, Olen Wilson from Timbo, Carl Campbell from Harrison, and Jake Moenning from Vendor in Newton County.
Since 1947, the Arkansas Farm Family of the Year program has served as a vehicle to recognize outstanding farm families throughout the state. All winners are judged on their farm production, efficiency, management, family life and rural/community leadership.
