Monday’s baseball, softball schedule includes regional play

Baseball and softball make up the local Monday schedule.

Viola’s baseball team will return to Izard County High School in Brockwell for the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament. The Longhorns play the first semifinal as their opponent will be Hillcrest. The first pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.

In other high school baseball, Bakersfield travels to Norwood, Gainesville hosts Alton, and Dora makes the trip to Winona.

The semifinals of the Class 1A Region 2 Softbal Tournament will also be held at Izard County. Calico Rock faces Hillcrest at 10:00, and Viola meets Rector at 12:30.
