Mountain Home will be the location where several high school baseball and softball teams gather as the Class 1A State Tournaments begin Wednesday. Mammoth Spring is the designated host school for both.
Four baseball games will be played on the opening day. Hillcrest and Ouachita get underway at noon on Pitts Field at McClain Park followed by Shirley and Concord at 2:30. On Lester White Field at Cooper Park, Mount Vernon-Enola meets County Line at noon, and Mount Ida faces Bradley at 2:30.
There will also be four softball games to begin the tournament. The action on Freedom Field at McClain Park starts at noon between Hillcrest and Ouachita, and Shirley takes on Midland at 2:30. At Keller Park, South Side-Bee Branch plays Acorn at noon, and Scranton will be matched up with Bradley at 2:30.
