Keith Trivitt of Cotter changed his plea to guilty on drug-related charges in four separate cases during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday. Trivitt was sentenced to six years in prison — with five to serve and one suspended.

The drug charges against Trivitt have resulted largely from compliance visits by probation and parole officers or traffic stops in which drugs and drug paraphernalia were found.

The compliance checks took place in early April of this year and September and October of last year. In those instances, officers reported finding drug paraphernalia, as well as methamphetamine and marijuana.

The 36-year-old Trivitt was also arrested after a vehicle he was driving was stopped for a traffic violation. The stop and arrest happened in the early morning hours of March 15th in Mountain Home. Officers found methamphetamine in Trivitt’s right front pocket. Trivitt was also reported to have concealed a syringe in his right pant leg.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Trivitt admitted the substance in the syringe and plastic bag was methamphetamine.

At the time of his October arrest last year, Trivitt had been in and out of the Baxter County jail almost 30 times, according to Sheriff John Montgomery.
