There was plenty of baseball and softball action Wednesday in Mountain Home as the Class 1A State Tournaments got underway.
The baseball games were played at two different locations. Hillcrest beat Ouachita 9-6 on Pitts Field at McClain Park, and Concord defeated Shirley 15-5. On Lester White Field at Cooper Park, Mount Vernon-Enola topped County Line 9-7, and Bradley shut out Mount Ida.
There were also two locations for softball action. On Freedom Field at McClain Park, Ouachita eliminated Hillcrest 12-2, and Midland beat Shirley 23-4. At Keller Park, Acorn edged out South Side-Bee Branch 4-3, and Bradley squeaked by Scranton 3-2.
