MH soccer teams begin state tournament action Friday

State tournament play begins Friday for the Mountain Home High School soccer teams.

The Lady Bombers will begin quarterfinal action in the Class 6A State Tournament at Russellville. Mountain Home will be paired with El Dorado.
The Lady Bombers have a first round bye after winning the 6A-East championship on Saturday. Mountain Home comes into the the tournament with a record of 15-3-2.
El Dorado is the fourth-seeded team from the West. The Lady Wildcats advanced to the second round after shutting out Little Rock Hall on Thursday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the campus of Russellville High School.

Mountain Home’s boys will also be in Russellville for their first match in the Class 6A State Tournament. The Bombers will meet Benton in the quarterfinals.
Mountain Home also has a first round bye in the boys’ bracket as the number two seed from the East. The Bombers fell to 16-2 on Saturday after losing the 6A-East title match at Jonesboro.
Benton is the West’s third-seeded team. The Panthers moved on to the quarterfinals after blanking Jacksonville on Thursday.
First year head coach Nathan Criner says his team needs to focus on what has been successful this season.

Gametime is set for 4:00 on the campus of Arkansas Tech University.

Harrison’s girls will return to action as they continue to host the Class 5A State Tournament. The Lady Goblins face Batesville at 10:00 at F.S. Garrison Stadium.
