Paden started FADD in 2014 after a family member was severely injured in an auto accident attributed to a distracted driver. She shared the emotional experience with the students and then redirected the conversation to statistics, one of them being 11 teens nationally die daily due to distracted driving. The presentation ended with students signing a banner pledging not to drive distracted.

State Farm agent Chafin spoke to the teens about some of the first-hand dangers of distracted driving he has seen and the resulting consequences. Chafin told the teens, “Choosing to drive distracted puts lives and licenses on the line. It can have horrific consequences and change the lives of people around you.”
