A Mountain Home man accused of domestic violence was arrested Saturday night on an outstanding bench warrant. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, 27-year-old Dusty Rhoades is in the Baxter County Detention Center on felony counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, third-degree domestic battery and first-degree terroristic threatening and a misdemeanor count of harassment. His bond is set at $17,980.

Deputies obtained the warrant from the Baxter County Circuit Court Tuesday after an investigation into two alleged incidents of domestic violence involving Rhoades and his wife. The first incident was reported May 1st when the victim reported Rhoades struck her twice with a wooden stick and his shoes causing injuries to her. He later reportedly threatened her with a knife.

A second altercation occurred last Monday after the victim met with Rhoades at a Mountain Home motel in an attempt to retrieve some of her property from him. The victim alleges Rhoades choked her and struck her in the face. Officers report she received treatment for her injuries at Baxter Regional Medical Center.

Sheriff Montgomery states Rhoades was spotted late Saturday evening by officers near Mountain Home on West Road, and he reportedly fled into the woods. The canine tracking team from the Arkansas Department of Corrections was summoned, and Rhoades was located a short time later.

Rhoades is scheduled to appear in circuit court Thursday.
