ABC/Randy HolmesMore than 20 years since performing at Princess Diana’s funeral, Elton John reportedly will take on the royal stage again.

Sources tell TMZ that Sir Elton will perform at the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this Saturday. It’s unclear if the singer will perform at the ceremony or at the reception.

While details are scarce, it’s no secret that Elton is tight with the royal family. In fact, the singer had a very close relationship with Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. Together they worked to raise awareness and money for AIDS research back in the ’80s.

When the princess died in 1997, Elton performed “Candle in the Wind” at her funeral. The lyrics of the song — which was originally about Marilyn Monroe — were changed to reflect Diana’s life. It’s also said he was a great support system for Harry and William after their mother’s passing.

Back in February, Elton rescheduled two Las Vegas shows that were slated for this upcoming weekend, citing a scheduling conflict.
