2 local residents receive governor’s appointments

Two local residents have received appointments from Governor Asa Hutchinson.

Sue Coon of Melbourne has been appointed to the Arkansas Arts Council’s Advisory Council.

The arts council was established in 1966 to enable the state to receive funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Coon’s term is set to expire June 20th, 2020.

Bob Mouser of Harrison was reappointed to serve on the Arkansas Lifetime Individual Verification Effort Corporation Board of Directors. The board provides services to verify eligibility under the Lifeline Assistance Program. The program provides discounts to low-income households for landline and wireless telephone service and equipment.

Mouser’s term will expire March 30th, 2021.

In addition, it was announced Sandy Stroope of Harrison was replaced by Rick Whitten of Gentry on the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission.
