CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) – A St. Louis County man will spend the rest of his life in
prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of killing his
girlfriend, stabbing her at least 180 times.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 29-year-old Phillip Huffman was
convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in the December 2012 death of
23-year-old Tempestt Hill in Jennings.

Hill gave birth eight days before her death. Her son was in another room of
the apartment at the time of the killing, but was not hurt.

Huffman didn’t dispute stabbing Hill. He said in court that he “blacked out”
in a fit of rage.

He said the last thing he remembered was taking a knife from Hill when she
told him to kill her because she “hated her life.”
