Credit: Kimberly AdamisHeart frontwoman Ann Wilson continues to unveil details about her upcoming solo album, Immortal, via a series of video blogs she’s been posting over the last few months on her official YouTube channel. In the latest installment, Ann revealed that she’s recorded a cover of George Michael‘s “A Different Corner” for the project, which features songs by artists who have died during the last few years.

In the clip, Wilson explains, “I always thought [Michael] was a fantastic singer, a beautiful masculine voice that came out in a really sensitive way, [someone who] was open about his feelings…in a really powerful, great way.”

She describes “A Different Corner” as “a sweet song about those first moments of falling in love, where everything is just magical and miraculous. And you’re kind of timid, and you can’t believe this is happening to you and it’s so fantastic, and everything is just right and you feel buoyant.”

Wilson says that in covering “A Different Corner,” she “used a lot of sounds that sound like spectral light looks.” She adds, “So it’s very…spiritual in a way, besides being love in the material world.”

So far, Ann has revealed nine of the songs that she plans to include on the Immortal album. The other eight are Amy Winehouse‘s “Back to Black”; “Luna” by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, in tribute to Petty; Cream‘s “Politician,” in honor of singer/bassist Jack Bruce; Lesley Gore‘s “You Don’t Own Me”; Audioslave‘s “I Am the Highway,” in tribute to Chris Cornell; The Eagles‘ “Life in the Fast Lane,” in honor of Glenn Frey; and Gerry Rafferty‘s “Baker Street.”

Among the guest musicians contributing to the album are Jeff Beck and Warren Haynes. You can pre-order a signed CD copy of Immortal now for $24.95 at AnnWilsonofHeart.com.
