The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office had a relatively quiet Memorial Day weekend. Sheriff John Montgomery says deputies responded to 90 complaint calls or calls for service from Friday through Monday, which is a 10 percent decrease in activity compared to last year.

There were 22 people booked into the Baxter County Detention Center, which is down one percent from last year. Three people were arrested for driving while intoxicated, two for boating while intoxicated, three for possession of drugs or paraphernalia and five had warrants for their arrest.

Sheriff’s deputies issued 25 citations for traffic violations or misdemeanors and 19 warnings for traffic violations.

The sheriff’s office also worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park rangers patrolling public campgrounds and public use areas on both area lakes and the North Fork River.
