An Ozark County man facing sex abuse allegations will wait a little longer to face a jury. According to the Ozark County Times, the trial for 57-year-old Danny Williams of Udall was scheduled to begin Tuesday, but it was rescheduled for June 27th during a pre-trial conference on May 17th.

Williams is charged with statutory sodomy of a child. He was arrested in April 2016 after being accused of performing sexual acts on a child he was babysitting in his residence nearly three months earlier.

This marks the third continuance Williams’ defense attorney, Ryan David Reynolds, has been granted. The initial trial date was scheduled for July 31st of last year, and the second was on March 20th. In addition, a change of venue motion was granted in December 2016, and the case was transferred from Ozark County to Wright County.

Another pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 7th in Hartville before Circuit Judge Craig Carter. Ozark County Prosecuting Attorney will represent the state of Missouri in the case, and he was opposed to the continuance motion.
