This week’s headliner for the Mountain Home Friday Night Block Party is The Crooked Creek Ceilidah Band. Music and activities will begin at 7:00 Friday night at the courthouse square in Mountain Home. The event is free to the public, and all are welcome.

The Crooked Creek Ceilidh Band started in 2005 and their music features traditional Scottish and Irish tunes and songs with a bit of Spain and Wales thrown in for good measure. Irish dance will also be featured with Eileen’s dance troupe from Harrison. Members of the band include Bob Box on the fiddle, Bryn Bowen Cox on the harp and keyboard, Joe Doster on bodhran, CD Scott on guitar and mandolin, Eileen Clark as dance leader and button accordion player, Julie Jasper on vocals and viola, and Caven Clark on pipes, whistles, and vocals.

Holy Smokes BBQ will be on hand selling barbecue, and the Baxter County Historical Society will be selling ice cream sundaes. Funnel cakes and lemonade are also available for purchase from concession vendors, and attendees will have a chance to win door prizes during the band’s intermission.
