Broken BowMonday night in Nashville, Trace Adkins helped his pal Darius Rucker raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by performing at his annual Darius and Friends benefit show.

But last week, Trace reunited with another old friend: President Donald Trump. Last Tuesday, Trace sang at his rally at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.

The two met during Trace’s two seasons on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. He was the runner-up in 2008, and returned to win the All-Star edition in 2013.

“That was the first time I’ve seen him, actually, since he started campaigning,” Trace says of his reunion with his reality-TV pal.

“It was just like we’d just seen each other last week. He came in and saw my daughter and gave her a hug, and you know, he was just loud and sucked all the air out of the room like he always does,” Trace laughs. “Nothing different, same guy as on The Apprentice five years ago.”

At the rally, Trace did his 2006 hit, “Ladies Love Country Boys,” which he said Trump had requested for his daughter Ivanka
