Capitol NashvilleOne of the biggest moments of Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards is sure to be when Darius Rucker takes the stage with Luke BryanJason Aldean, and Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley

The foursome re-recorded the rock song “Straight to Hell” by Drivin’ N Cryin’ for Darius’ album When Was the Last Time, and now it’s set to be his new single.

“Dude, yeah, that’s gonna be fun!” Darius says of their CMT performance. “Those guys — that’s another one of those Nashville things. You come here, you make friends with people ten years ago, and you become better and better friends, and they become three of the biggest stars in the business.”

Both Luke and Jason have been named Entertainer of the Year multiple times in the past decade, while Charles has certainly taken home his share of trophies with Lady A as well. But no matter how busy they may be, Darius says it never stands in the way of friendship.

“You call ’em up and say, ‘Hey man, come sing on this song.’ And they go, ‘Yeah, alright. We’ll figure it out,'” Darius explains. “And they come and they sing, and then they come to do the video. And it’s just such a testament to country music and so much fun that they did come do that for me.”

Though the all-star country quartet has already shot a video for “Straight to Hell,” we don’t know when it will be released. You can tune in to see their CMT Music Awards performance Wednesday night starting at 8 p.m. ET.

Next month, Darius heads out on the co-headlining Summer Plays On tour with Lady A, and he’ll also reunite with his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates to play with Jason at Braves’ stadium in Atlanta.
